Automotive Plastic Parts Molder in China Interested in Competitors Costs

A large automotive parts injection molder in China wanted to understand the manufacturing and part costs of high volume parts manufactured.

Primary Impact gathered competitive intelligence and discovered the raw material suppliers, volumes and pricing from other businesses.   Competitive research helped us understand the tooling, part and overhead costs.  We were able to provide a bottom up costing to make and ship parts to automotive customers throughout China.

Performing a "Bottom Up" manufacturing economic costing involves gathering much detail about a business, raw materials supplied, volumes and overhead.  Through face-to-face meetings with key personnel in each competitive plant, we were able to determine critical data to create a costing profile for each plant.

Shipping, logistics, security personnel, administrators, lab personnel, and production staffers at automotive suppliers were helpful in understanding the costing puzzle.

Simple Intelligence can be hard to find

Simple information is not always simple to obtain.  Primary Impact sometimes utilizes complex processes to find simple information in China.  Regardless of the methodology, our success in China is based on supplying primary research to answer our clients' questions.  Click link to learn more about Primary Impact's automotive industry practice.
