Our report showed only five opportunities that met the majority of the client's parameters and only one opportunity that met all of the client's selection criteria. Five opportunities had substantial plastic volume potential, required technical expertise for a solution, and showed that customers would pay a premium. Only one opportunity also had a difficult technical requirement. It was a thin, flexible plastic barrier film capable of protecting organic electronics from very low levels of oxygen and water. This challenging application has been in development for many years by four companies which appeared to be 18 months from a solution.
Primary Impact suggested assisting plastic film companies and research laboratories in developing film technologies and not investing in film conversion.
Research Report suggests maintaining focus
This client selectively offered technical expertise on specific film development projects and abandoned their pursuit of "plastic" film conversion. Click to learn more about Primary Impact's plastic industry practice.
